Cheesy and packed with zaatar flavour, these pull apart muffins are quick and easy to make!
If you’re looking for a quick after school snack, these are for you. These come together in about 5 minutes since this recipe used premade biscuit dough and trust me, the kids LOVE them! You’ll love them too! They’re fun to eat and great to feed a crowd.
WHAT ARE ZAATAR PULL APART MUFFINS?
These are similar to monkey bread only they’re savoury, not sweet and instead of being baked in a bundt pan, I cook them in a muffin tin to create individual snacks. It’s refrigerated biscuit dough that is cut up into quarters then coated with zaatar, oil and mozzarella cheese.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Store bought biscuit dough – the kind in a can
- Zaatar
- Olive oil
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Cooking spray
- Muffin tin
HOW DO I MAKE THEM?
To start, you’ll cut up the biscuits into quarters and place the pieces into a bowl. Next, in a small bowl, you’ll mix the zaatar and olive oil then pour the mixture over the biscuits pieces. You’ll add the cheese to the bowl and mix everything to combine.
You’ll spray a regular sized muffin tin with cooking spray then fill the muffin cups with about 6-7 pieces of biscuits. You’ll bake it in the oven until it’s golden brown and cooked through.

TIPS FOR MAKING IT:
1. Use premade biscuit dough to make this a quick snack
2. Use mozzarella cheese or any other string cheese
3. Mix the zaatar with the oil in a separate bowl before adding to the biscuits
